Jacques Vigner Elected Chairman of AMAFI

On July 2, 2026, the Board of AMAFI elected Mr. Jacques Vigner as Chairman of the Association.

He succeeds Mr. Stéphane Giordano, who had served as the Association’s president since October 2014. Mr. Giordano remains a member of the AMAFI Board and has been named Honorary President of the Association in recognition of his commitment and contribution to its development.

Jacques Vigner, Associate Director of BNP Paribas Financial Markets SNC , is also a member of the Executive Committee of Global Markets at BNP Paribas , where he serves as Chief Strategic Oversight Officer.

A graduate of École Polytechnique and École des Mines, he has more than 25 years of experience in the financial markets. He has held numerous leadership roles in the areas of derivatives, risk management, strategy, and market operations transformation, thereby gaining in-depth knowledge of the industry’s challenges.

Jacques Vigner stated: “AMAFI plays a vital role in representing financial market participants and supporting major transformations in the sector. I would like to thank Stéphane Giordano for his leadership at the helm of the Association over the past 12 years. Through his dedication, he has helped strengthen AMAFI’s position in the European debate and develop the Association to support market activities during a period of profound change, notably marked by Brexit. I am honored to succeed him and, together with all members of the Board, to continue the work undertaken on behalf of the financial center to promote competitive, attractive markets capable of sustainably financing our economy.”

The Board also re-elected Mr. Vincent Remay, Advisor to the Chairman of Viel et Cie, to the position of Vice President of the Association. Mr. Remay notably headed the working group responsible for the transition of French government debt to the euro and was in charge of products and indices at the SBF, which later became Euronext. He also served as Chairman of STOXX before taking charge of Euronext-Liffe’s equity and index derivatives operations.
