Following the reports by Enrico Letta and Mario Draghi, which highlighted the need to strengthen the competitiveness of the EU’s banking sector, and as part of its strategy for the Savings and Investment Union, the European Commission is preparing a report on this subject and has launched a consultation with this in mind.
Given the role played by banks on capital markets, AMAFI, which represents financial market activities in France, is contributing to the consultation, particularly on issues relating to competitiveness and simplification, the revision of the IFR/IFD framework and the reporting of financial transactions, as well as sustainable finance requirements.
